Nut Butter Grinder
  • Q
    21. Do I need water or oil for grinding?
    A
    - Unlike old-school mill-stone grinders, Feli’s machines don’t require any added water or oil to work. Just put roasted ingredients in the hopper and start
    grinding.
  • Q
    22. Can I add flavoring?
    A
    - Feli promotes healthy and natural food and therefore we don’t recommend adding anything to the nut butter. However if you wish to add some extra
    flavour, here’s a recipe:
    - 1) Mix the roasted nuts, fine sugar and oil well prior to grinding
    - 2) Add syrup or honey into the butter after it’s done and mix thoroughly
  • Q
    23. Can I add water or oil?
    A
    - To protect the motor, we do not recommend adding any water, oil or syrup in the hopper during grinding
  • Q
    24. Temperature
    A
    - The temperatures of grinded butter for NBM-100 & 200 & 300 are around 40-50. It depends on the nuts’ oiliness and roasting level. The more oily the
nuts are, the faster the flow and the lower the temperature during grinding.
    - NBM-400 is a home-use type of appliance with low horsepower and low RPM, so the temperature is lower than in other models and it can preserve the butter’s authentic taste. But the output of NBM-400 is the lowest among these 4 models: 8-12 kgs of peanut butter per hour.
  • Q
    25. Why is the butter getting not so smoother than before?
    A
    - When you find that the flow of nut butter is getting slow or the paste is getting crunchier, drier etc, please do a regular check to ensure the condition of the grinding disc.

    - Simple check:
    - Please take a look at the disc and touch the disc. If the tips of grinding disc teeth have become fray and smooth, please replace it with a new disc immediately
to get the best grinding efficiency.

    - Replacing the disc:
    - Use a screwdriver to take out the two screws holding the grinding disc, place a new disc in the old one’s place and tighten the screws.
  • Q
    26. Is the grinding disc durable?
    A
    - The stainless steel disc is quite durable for grinding roasted nuts and steamed beans. But if you would like to grind sesame seeds frequently or in a vast amount, it is suggested that you buy a spare grinding. We recommend this because if the sesame seeds are not well roasted, it's hard to get adequate oiliness  and this will damage the disc faster due to the high grinding temperature. Please replace the disc if necessary.
  • Q
    27. How do I store the nut butter? For how long is it fresh?
    A
    - The storage time for each nut is different. But normally, the butter can stay fresh for about 3-6 months when kept at room temperature. It is suggested
that you finish the nut butter as soon as possible, as it does not have any preservatives or additives. The earlier you finish the nut butter, the fresher it is.
  • Q
    28. What can I not grind?
    A
    - Dried, hard, high fiber and frozen foods, such as sugar cane, ginger, raw rice, raw beans, durians, ice and etc – In short, materials that contain no or very
little oil or water are not recommended for grinding. This is to avoid thick paste that gets stuck and causes the grinding temperature to rise too much.
  • Q
    29. What can I grind?
    A
    - Peanuts, sesame seeds, cashew nuts, almond nust, almonds, pine nuts, chestnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, cocoa, soybeans (miso), regular beans, red beans or dried fruits
  • Q
    30. Can I grind uncooked nuts?
    A
    - Raw nuts that contain very little oil are not recommended to be ground. This is because the grinding flow will be slow and temperature high. Therefore, all
nuts should be roasted well prior to grinding. Also, we also recommend mixing different kinds of nuts to get the healthiest paste possible.
